A round trip on the train is 4 hours up to Silverton, with a 2-hour layover in the quaint town of Silverton for shopping and lunch, and then 3 hours and 15 minutes ride back to Durango.

A great, timesaving option that Mild to Wild's guests love is to take the Narrow Gauge Railroad one-way and shuttle on the striking Million Dollar Skyway (rated one of the 10 most breathtaking drives in the U.S).  We recommend taking our shuttle up to Silverton and taking the train back down to Durango, since the train is faster coming down the mountain!  Because you will only be taking the train one-way, we will be sure to hand-pick your seats on the side of the train that has the most magnificent views.
